What is the 'Jobs by Category' option provided on Home Page?

Jobs by Category allow the user to browse for the jobs related to various industries that suits your job requirement. Clicking on the categories will display the list of jobs that are available for the particular category. Also there is a link for Other Categories which would open the list of categories from where the user can click upon as per his requirement.

What is the 'Jobs in India'  & 'International Jobs' option provided on Home Page?

'Jobs in India' enables you to refine your search by selecting that particular city you are looking at for finding a job. Once you have selected a job location, the search result will reflect only those jobs that are based out of the particular location that you have selected. Also there is a link for Other Locations which would open the list of locations from where the user can click upon as per his requirement.

Similarly 'International Jobs' option can be used.

What is the 'Premium Jobs' option provided on Home Page?

'Premium Jobs' lists out the jobs which are of COO/CEO and Director levels from the premium companies.

How to use the advance Search?

Advance Search helps you to find relevant jobs based on your specific criteria.

Keywords For a keyword search you may enter Designation or Key Skills of desired job. For example: Product Manager- This will search for "Product Manager" as a single word. While Product, Manager will search for "Product" as well as "Manager".

Locations You may enter Indian cities or international countries/cities and the search result will display only those jobs which are based out of the specified locations. You can separate the locations with comma. 

Company This will help you find jobs matching your specified organization name.

Experience The search result will display all those jobs with the required work experience from specified range.

Job Function This will help you find jobs matching your specified job function.

Industry This will help you find jobs matching your specified industry.

How to search jobs from particular edition of Ascent?

Searching a job from particular edition of Ascent or ET Highflier is facilitated from Advance Search. Please select the Issue Date in the range given and ads in this date range will be displayed.
Go to Advance Search Select Issue Date Select Publication (Ascent Or ET High Flier) Select Edition Click on Submit
 

What are Search similar Jobs?

Ascent has an advanced intelligent search engine which is beyond keyword search. This technology matches skill sets given mentioned in the job description and finds suitable results.
For ex. if one ad features Market Segmentation and another ad features Branding, the search engine will match these two parameters and display likewise.

What is Save Search?

You may choose to save a search parameter pertinent to your requirement and ones which give you the best results. In such a scenario you need not input the parameters the next time. Instead you can choose to search using the saved parameters.You can save the search parameters only when you are logged in. Search using parameters which give you the best result and click on SAVE SEARCH to save.

How to search for walk in interviews?

You can search for all walkin advertisements in the past 1 week. Click on Advanced Search and select Walkin. There are 3 radio buttons TODAY,TOMORROW & NEXT SEVEN DAYS. Select any of these options and click on 'Submit' to view the results.

How can I post my Resume?

To post your resume, please click on Register link on the Home Page. The link takes you to the Candidate Registration Page. The information that you provide spans across the details that the recruiters look for. Once that is done you have your profile registered with us. This is your default profile which is sent across to the recruiters when you apply for a particular job posting. Though all the details are not mandatory, it is recommended to fill so that the recruiters can find out the most suitable job for the candidate.

How can I update/edit my Profile?

Once you are logged in, you can update/edit your profile by using Edit Profile. This lets you make necessary changes in the relevant sections. 

How can I Create Cover letters?

Once logged in, please click on My Profile Cover Letter. In the Cover letter page, please click on Create Cover Letter to fill the requisite details. Please give a display name to this format and click on SAVE. Whenever you apply to a job and are logged in, the display name of the cover letter will be shown in the dropdown "ATTACH COVER LETTER".

How do I change my password?

If you wish to change your password, please click on My Profile Change Password. Please enter your current and new password here. Please click on FORGOT PASSWORD link available on the homepage. Please enter your registered email id and the password will be mailed to you.

How do I retrieve my password if I have forgotten it? Please click on FORGOT PASSWORD link available on the homepage. Please enter your registered email id and the password will be mailed to you. Who all have access to my Resume? Your resume is only accessible by those organizations where you have applied for a Job. How can I verify my mobile number? You may verify mobile number provided you are subscribed to SMS Alerts. Once you select the option of subscription, 6-digit alphanumeric code will be sent on your mobile. By entering that code, your mobile number gets verfied.

How to apply when there is no apply button? How to apply when there is no employer email id?

A few recruiters do not specify the email id to which the resumes need to be sent to. In such a scenario, the contact details/ way to apply is mentioned in the advertisement. Please refer the image to get these details.

How to apply for the job?

There is ‘Apply' button next to the job description from where the user can Apply for the job. Apply can be used for both registered as well as non-registered users.

Do I have an option to reapply for a particular job vacancy?

If the user has already applied for the job, he can view the job under ‘My Applications' and ‘My Dashboard' once he has successfully logged in. The user can Re-apply for the job posting only once. The user can see the option ‘Re-Apply' only if he has applied for the job earlier. Any job can be re-applied only once.

In case of a successful job application, you will be informed of the same through the confirmation mail sent by us directly to your inbox. These jobs will also be displayed in the application page.

Based on your profile and the resume you have uploaded, Ascent matches the various job postings available and this is shown on MY DASHBOARD. Ascent updates the same every week based on the job postings for the week.

After applying to a job, please click on the COMPARE link on the page which appears just after you apply. Comparison against CTC and Experience of other applicants who have applied for this position are available here in percentage figures. The 3 parameters are BELOW,SIMILIAR and ABOVE. You may also view this comparison in the My Applications page in the summary box of all applications made by you.
