Equitas Small Finance Bank (ESFB) is a New Age Bank in India that focuses on providing financial services to the underserved and unbanked population. The Bank has a strong focus on leadership development, which is well aligned with the Bank’s Mission and Core Values.
ESFB's Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) are conceptualized and designed based on a multi-phased approach that comprises four stages namely - Developing the Competency Framework, Designing and Deploying Assessments, Deriving the Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and Implementing the Development Journey.
ESFB uses its success dimensions namely Ability, Aspiration, and Loyalty - to identify its targeted participants for its LDPs, and these success dimensions serve as the foundational element based on which ESFB builds its eligibility criteria and selection mechanism.
Creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment is today regarded as one of the strategic priorities for ESFB. The bank offers various avenues, including learning opportunities, to encourage its women leaders to acquire a competitive skill-set and to help advance their careers.
As a result of sustained developmental interventions, ESFB’s Vehicle Finance division has witnessed a close to 400% increase in its monthly loan sourcing made on the new generation Loan Origination System (LOS). It also helped in increasing operational efficiency and customer experience. The fact that close to 40% of vacancies arising in middle and senior levels were taken up by internal candidates is a testimony to the effectiveness of these leadership development initiatives at ESFB.
