New Delhi, September 21, 2022: Strengthening its leadership vertical, PW (PhysicsWallah), India’s top ed-tech platform, has appointed Imran Rashid as Vice President, Product Partnership. A seasoned product leader, Imran will be driving partnerships with schools and passionate edupreneurs, expanding its franchise model PW Pathshala and educational retailers across India.

The idea behind these partnerships is to help students leverage the benefits of high-quality and affordable courses for JEE/NEET preparation. Imran will also be focused on enhancing PW’s school tech associated with college and career readiness for K12 schools.

An IIT (BHU) alumnus, Imran brings over a decade of rich experience in edupreneurship. He started providing tech-enabled e-learning services to 300+ schools from his final year in college, followed by a collaboration with the UP government, where he helped digitize an extensive network of more than 1000 schools. He also founded a startup called Aptence that aims to develop aptitude and critical thinking skills like reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making through gamification.

His previous stints also include product consultation with leading companies like Redcliffe Diagnostics, Calance, and many fintech players. Now at PW, his work will be ultimately driven by the larger mission to make quality learning accessible to the remotest part of India. This also includes students with special learning needs and those from underprivileged backgrounds. Outside work, Imran enjoys playing and watching Cricket.

Imran Rashid, VP – Product Partnership, PW, said, “I have always been a fan of PW’s work. What they have been doing in the education space is phenomenal. I am very excited to contribute to their journey with my learnings and experiences and take the business to new heights.”

Alakh Pandey, Co-founder, and CEO, of PW, said, “Starting from the grassroots, Imran has taken numerous transformative initiatives to make quality education accessible to Indian students by partnering with schools and the UP government. Over the years, he has built a strong network of edupreneurs by scaling their businesses. And with a robust tech background, Imran is a perfect fit for us to lead PW’s product partnerships team. We look forward to working with him and innovating PW's offerings with his unmatched domain expertise.”

About PW (PhysicsWallah)

PW (PhysicsWallah), India’s 101st unicorn company, started as a YouTube channel by Alakh Pandey in 2016, has grown to become one of the country’s leading edtech players. PW, the brainchild of Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, aims to provide extremely affordable and quality coaching to JEE and NEET aspirants, and students of classes 9-12, from distinguished teachers. PW has revolutionized the edtech sector by bridging the gap between affordability and quality while increasing accessibility.

The company focuses on providing lectures and sessions for students on YouTube, the PW app, and the website. PW also has hybrid classes, aka Pathshalas, in 22 cities across India and has forayed into the offline space by launching ‘PW Vidyapeeth’ in six places, including Kota and Delhi, by bringing more personalization to the fore and introducing cutting-edge technology in products. ‘PW Pathshala’ is an engaging blend of traditional and online learning for JEE and NEET aspirants and class 11th and 12th droppers, whereas ‘PW Vidyapeeths’ are pure offline centers for such students. By tapping into the untapped areas, PW continues to expand its reach by introducing courses in vernacular languages, including Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, and Gujarati. During the 2020 pandemic, Alakh Pandey collaborated with Prateek Maheshwari to provide a digital solution for students, which resulted in the launching of the PW app. The brand presently has over 10 million followers on YouTube, with a 4.9 rating on the play store and over 50 lakh app downloads. It has catered to more than 10 lakh students online.
