It’s an opportunity to be part of something special.About the roleThe Senior Data Governance Specialist is a global role that will support the Data Governance Lead in the Data Governance team, part of the Data Governance and Risk pillar in the Data Office. The Data Governance team is responsible for delivering effective Data Governance across Haleon.The role will be responsible for driving implementation of the Data Governance Framework components, working closely with senior stakeholders from the wider organisation to ensure compliance with this framework. It will focus on enabling safe and effective use of data and driving continuous improvement of data governance capabilities and efficiencies within the organisation.The role will work closely with other Data Office teams (Information Architecture, Data Quality Management, Master Data and Data and AI Risk) but more importantly will need to work with key business stakeholders across functions and geographies to deliver Data Governance initiatives.This role is crucial to delivering an important and strategic capability that is critical to Haleon’s continued and future success through leveraging data and AI.Key responsibilitiesProvide deep subject matter expertise to deliver/refine the Data Governance framework - including leading in relevant forums (e.g. Data Governance Leadership Council) to escalate and resolve data issues, manage demand, share knowledge and best practices.Work with Data Owners to support them in governing data on behalf of the enterprise, through provision of appropriate tools, forums, processes and artefacts.Managing appropriate components of the Haleon Information Catalogue including defining/refining appropriate processes and controls to manage updates to this key artefact.Establish, maintain, ensure compliance with and periodically review key Data Governance artefacts (e.g. policies, standards, SOPs etc.).Define and monitor Data Governance KPIs and leverage insight to drive performance improvement opportunities.Be an evangelist for, and be able to communicate the value of, Data Governance to senior level stakeholders.Qualifications and skillsEssential5+ years of experience as Data Governance specialist or similar Data Governance roles.Deep experience of designing, delivering and operating Data Governance capabilities in complex organizations across multiple markets, functions, and data domains.Hands-on experience in the areas of Data Governance organisational design and operations, developing supporting tools/artefacts/capabilities required for effective Data Governance, e.g. roles & responsibilities, policies, standards, processes, procedures, data quality management, KPI definition and reporting, metadata & reference data management (information cataloguing, data lineage etc.).The role will be actively involved in designing and operating multi-tiered Data Governance forums with a variety of stakeholders.Pragmatic approach to problem solving - able to prioritise work and challenges appropriately, be adaptable and consider that nuances within particular functions or geographies may have different priorities and require different solutions.Preferred7+ years experience as Data Governance Specialist or similar Data Governance roles.Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent. Proven experience of working in a data governance function in a large organization.Influencing skills demonstrating ability to really sell the value of Data Governance.Care to join us.
